Description: 2 inch Assembly Tape Application: Mustang/Shelby/Ford Jack’s Comments: During production line workers used various types of tape to hold wires or cover holes etc.This is the semi-glossy black tape assembly workers used to hold the fuel sending wire in the trunk, cover the Boss 429 battery tray mounting holes, keeps the taillight and convertible top motor wire harness in place under the scuff plates (see 4” tape) and holds the positive battery cable in place (engine compartment) on first 50 or so 1969 Boss 429’s.There are many other applications.
This tape is the most correct tape available today in my opinion and many other top restorers including Ed Meyer.The pattern of the thread weave is not exactly like the original but the finish is exact.NOTE: Another tape very similar to this tape was also used for assembly but this type was by far the most common.The other tape was just like this tape in construction but had a much flatter black appearance.
