Description: 1970 Taillight & Trunk Screw Protectors (pair) Year: 1970 Model: Mustang Condition: NOS Finish: Black Quantity: 2 (one pair) Date Codes: n/a Part Number: 375547-S Jack’s Comments: This unique plastic screw protector cap was installed by the factory to protect your hands from the sharp ends of the middle (inboard) sheet metal screws protruding from the backside of the taillight-bucket (see picture below). They were also installed on fastback package tray screws (click on view product images). These protectors have been found on many low mileage cars and in all 1970 assembly manuals so judges do look for them.
We offered these caps previously in reproduction but since then we found a small amount of NOS caps available for sale. These NOS caps are a much harder plastic and won't crack from summer the heat. If you did purchased some of the reproductions from us and they cracked we will replace them with NOS caps for no charge.
How many do I need? Two screw protectors for the taillight housings and four for the package tray.
