This new reproduction master cylinder cap that is a very accurate copy of the original. The cap is plated clear zinc just like the originals but should be painted semi-gloss black with it installed on your master cylinder. See our Factoid section for more master cylinder details. Does not come with rubber seal.
Q. What do you mean its painted black with the master cylinder? I thought it was zinc.
A. The cap and master cylinder was painted semi-gloss black with the cap installed. See our Factiod section for more details.
Q. My car was built real early in 1969 production. Is this cap correct for my car?
A. Maybe, really early in production disc brake cars came with the 1968 master cylinder cap. See more info the early cap in an article Marcus put together."
Q. What is the correct rubber seal?
A. The correct rubber seal has rectangular tabs and a Bendix logo. Getting the correct rectangular tabbed seals are getting harder to source today since most have the round tabs. Dorman and Scott Drake used to make them with rectangle tabs but recently went to round. See last pictures of original seals.
