Jack's Comments:

Our water pump rebuild service includes new bearing, seal (new double seal version), fan hub and service replacement impeller. We start with disassembly and inspecting the pumps condition. The bare housing is then cleaned and gently bead blasted. We then install the bearing, seal, fan hub and impeller. We then carefully package your water pump and ship it back to you via UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail for international customers.

HiPo Impellers: True early 289 HiPo water pump impellers are not available. We do make the later D0ZE-8512-A impeller originally designed for the 1970 BOSS 302 water pumps. It's dimensionally the same as the early HiPo impellers but it has a much improved impeller design for high RPMs. We have been installing them for years in early aluminum small block pumps and they have proven to fit and perform perfectly. If you would like us to install our a BOSS 302 impeller in your early water pump add one to your shopping cart and we will install it when we rebuild your pump.

Questions and Answers:

Q: Do I get my the same water pump I send you back?
A: Yes, we track the pump you send us all the way through the rebuilding process so we can guarantee you will get your pump back.
Q: What should I insure the pump for when I'm sending it to you?
A: You should insure it for the what you think the pump would cost to replace.  If you need help with this email us.
Q: Will you replace the cast iron or stamped steel impeller thats in my pump?
A: No, unless it needs to be replaced. We will return your old impeller with the pump if we replace it.
Q: Will the fan hub be replaced as part of the rebuild service?
A: Yes, but only if its bad since new hubs are a slightly different from originals.
Q: My pumps hose fittings have some very deep pitting in them. Is there anything you can do?
A: No, we cannot repair any corrosion. Some owners have told us they have had success filling the pits with JB weld so the hoses don't leak.

Condition Issues: Your aluminum housing will be cleaned and bead blasted before we install the new components. There can be very deep corrosion pits that only show themselves after cleaning and bead blasting. We are not responsible for any hidden condition issues exposed after cleaning and bead blasting. If we find that the pump housing has any condition issues we will contact you before proceeding with the rebuilding process.

Aluminum Finish Options: We clean and bead blast your aluminum housing so its ready for paint. This means you may see some deep stains after cleaning (see pictures). If you want a new looking aluminum finish we can bead blast it perfectly clean and then tumble it so it looks like a fresh casting. The freshly casted finish is an extra charge of $50.00. Please request this finish in the special instructions when checking out and we will contact you when we receive the pump.
